History

History

Cosmo’s Martial Art Center was founded by Master Cosmo Yi. Master Cosmo Yi is a 5th Degree Black Belt and holds multiple credentials. He was a treasurer for the New York State Tae Kwon Do Association, a Korean-American Demonstration Team member and was a U.S.A Team Coach against Mexico. He also trained several national level sparring athletes under his tutelage and was also the Korean-American Olympic Team Coach. Master Cosmo’s experience stems back from 1999 when he operated Yi’s Taekwondo Center as the owner from 1999-2005. Above all, Master Cosmo has been certified by the Board of Education to teach Taekwondo programs in public schools and has taught in P.S 175 located in the Bronx County. Master Cosmo’s philosophy is about growth, self-improvement and autonomy by connection of the body and mind. He believes that we can attain a sense of self, well-being, happiness and compassion for others by stimulating both body and mind.
